Express Yourself- {Phoenix, AZ Family Photographer}

It has been almost two weeks since I captured this awesome family's photos.  I met Tiffany when we discovered that our oldest two girls were becoming bosom buddies in school last semester.  It has been so much fun to get to know them!

This is a family that loves art and when they asked me if I would be willing to take their photos down in the Downtown Phoenix Art District I was beyond thrilled!  I love families that want to go out of the box for some fun pictures.

Sometimes people think of Arizona and all they can imagine is brown desert.  While that is partly true there is also SO MUCH COLOR.....you just have to know where to find it.

Miss M here was an absolute model for the camera.  She was only too happy to smile and frankly, my camera just loved her.  Between her little best friend "Pilgrim" and my rainbow umbrella, I think we have a few winners!

Miss H is the free spirit of the family and while pictures sounded so fun to everyone else, she was fairly disenchanted by them.  Thats okay because I love to capture sweet candid moments.  Those moments that happen organically when she least expects it.  Such a busy little lady and so sure of herself.

As a photographer I am learning to see the beauty in so many places.  One look at this little ally and you wouldn't think it would be perfect, but it is.  Colorful, urban, a mix of light and dark with quite literally all the colors of the rainbow.

It has been such a delight to get to know this family a little bit and I look forward to many more years of friendship with them.  They have depth and character and their little girls are as spirited as my own.

We spent all morning walking through the city finding the perfect art on the right wall.  It really was fun.  As the sun came out and it started to get warmer, the girlies started to fade and it became more about playing than anything.  I even caught a wee smile out of Miss H!

Thanks B family for letting me take your family photos!  I LOVE the setting that you chose and pray these photos express you guys in the best way possible!

New Faces, New Places - {Mesa, AZ Family Photographer}

I cannot even begin to tell you how fulfilling and wonderful it is to be back in the photography game.  Moving has been challenging, and I am so blessed to be back in the game.

The cycling community out here in the Sunny Desert is AMAZING and this family right here is proof.  The amazing Mother of this bunch is a phenomenal cyclist (as in I couldn't keep up with her the other day).  I met her when I discovered the awesome Two Wheel Jones cycling group.  This lady is strong and beautiful.  I really was honored when she asked me to capture her family.

I am so used to capturing babies and little tikes that it was really a nice change of pace to capture some grown up kids.  The two young men in this family are absolutely two of the kindest and most handsome boys I have met in a while.

I have no doubt that these brothers squabble, but at the end of the day, I still think they would call themselves friends.  Good looking boys.

Our location was PERFECT and the lighting absolutely Divine.  I love hazy lighting.  I love sunspots and sun flares.  I JUST LOVE IT!

I always admire seeing couples who have been married for lots of years still showing that once in a lifetime love to one another.  This picture above was a candid moment, not posed, but perfect.

As the sun was quickly setting on the Desert floor I found myself wishing that we could just keep capturing this family.  They were really so much fun and this Momma breathes so much life into her family,  I can tell.

Even their furry family member got some camera time!

Thank you A Family for letting me take your photos!  Promise me you won't wait another 10 years before doing it again!
