Treasures

As we become adults,  we tend to loose our sense of wonder.  We forget the treasures found in small seemingly insignificant things.  That is until you spend any amount of time in the presence of a child.

My little girl reminds me all of the time about special treasures and to remember the small things.  The other day she discovered a dirt crusted penny in our backyard.  She ran up to me and slowly opened her hand to reveal her treasure.  She was so excited.  You see when we go to the grocery store, Lily gets to ride the 1 cent horse if she has a good attitude while we are shopping.  A penny = a horse ride and for my little girl, that is HUGE.

While most people would overlook a penny, Lily holds them close.  They are a treasure to her.

There are treasures everywhere.  Don't forget to see them.

Happy New Year, Happy Family {Aurora, CO Family Photographer}

I LOVE when families ask me to photograph them.  Mainly because I get to see them every year and watch as their families transform and grow.  It really is a special treat.

This family is one of those that I am blessed to follow.  I'v known this family for several years and have witnessed them go from 2 (I was blessed to be a bridesmaid) to 4.  Their 2 kids are simply precious.

 I couldn't help but smile at how much this little boy loved his Daddy.  He was completely happy to give me the biggest smiles whenever I asked.
These ladies have a special place in my heart.  This Momma and I were roomates in college while we both studied music and the little lady shared the same ETA with my Evie (even though actual arrival dates differed :)

Their story is a great one, and they really are one happy family.

And Baby Makes 4 - {Arvada CO Newborn Photographer}

I had the wonderful privilege of spending the morning with this special family a few days ago.  This little family is very special to my heart because they too are celebrating the arrival of their second baby girl.  This couple is no stranger to pink and curls.  This sweet Momma is a high school friend of mine and I couldn't help but be blessed to catch up with her again and meet her family.  She was utterly peaceful and had such a gentility about her.

I always love to see the transformation of a family of 3 to a family of 4.  Perhaps its because I know how powerful it is or perhaps it is just fun to see the joy written all over the big sister.  Either way, it is a blessing.  These two little ladies also have such a wonderful dad.  You can see the love he has for his girls in everything he does.  From gently snuggling Baby C to taking a moment between shots to tickle Big Sister.

The girls are gonna be great friends, I can tell.  Big Sister V was so happy and was only too ready to snuggle her little sister and show me her new dollhouse.  She was just sure that little house was perfect size for her baby sister to live in.  I can see many years of playtime here.

Little Miss C was so content and peaceful.  Just a precious little lady

It gives me such joy to spend time with these wee ones.

And here is one to remind you that at the end of the day..........
Girls just wanna have fun!

Miracle, I'm a Miracle (Denver Newborn Photographer}

When I see hardship in the world, I only have to stop and spend a few hours in the company of a new baby to feel the presence of the Lord.  New life is simply miraculous. This sweet Momma is one of my dearest friends, and though at times we have been separated by many miles and circumstances, the Lord has always kept our friendship bound.  I am blessed.  Especially having the time to capture the moments of her brand new baby boy.

Baby J is just about as precious as they come and was a perfect model for not 1 but 2 photo shoots. He is a little miracle no doubt about it.

This boy's Mama has been given many gifts and one of those is art.  She is simply a beautiful artist, creative and expressive.  Little J is most likely bursting with creativity and it will be fun to watch him grow.

Our afternoon together was such a blessing to me and such a joy.  To capture just a few of the moments in this little boys life makes me smile.  What a treasure.

And just in case he wasn't cute enough, here's one for the books.  Yes baby J, you are a miracle.

Catching the Fun {Family Photography-Littleton}

I simply adore photographing families!  Especially those wonderful families that have fun and energetic kiddos.  This sweet family was such a one.  Catching the brotherly love and their smiling faces was fun.

There is something absolutely wonderful about seeing a family unit.  You can tell these two adore one another and love their boys.  It was special to see and even more special to photograph.

The day we chose to take a few pictures it was just freezing outside, so we headed to the Park Meadows Mall.  It was a perfectly lovely place to capture a little bit of their story.  The boys had a hard time sitting still so we just took pictures whenever they got tired enough to need a break.  Who wants to be still when there is so much fun to be had!

They were brave enough to weather the cold and I was simply all smiles with how much love I felt between the 4 of them.

The G family is special, no two ways about it!
