This awesome twosome are college friends of Bob and I. Ryan and Jessi are absolutely kindred spirits and although we live far apart, seem to remain one of those friends that distance cannot separate. Ryan stood with Bob at our wedding and we were so blessed to be a part of theirs..... over 8 years ago. My how time flies.
Their visit was far too short this past weekend, but it was wonderful in many many ways. Without too many details here, just know that this photo shoot was a special one. One that represents a battle won and a victory worth fighting for. This breathtakingly beautiful woman here has fought a hard battle over the past several years of her life against an eating disorder that almost consumed her and Saturday was somewhat of a celebration for her. I am blessed she chose me to take her pictures. Recovery is a beautiful thing.
And here is the man that has stood by her through thick and thin, who loves her now more than ever. The joy in them is tangible. Brings me to tears to think about it.
The colors and surroundings this time of year set the perfect backdrop to capture this time in their lives. They are a beautiful set of people.
Jessi and Ryan, I love you dearly and am so proud of you guys for weathering the storms of life. We are blessed to know you!
sorry for taking a while to check these out, but they rock! You definitely did a great job capturing Jessi's beauty and my, err, not total unfortunateness... I mean, you gotta love the beard, right :) You're definitely correct that, while these pictures don't mark a specific date per se, they represent a celebration of struggle, life, health, recovery, perseverance and commitment. Thanks for being there and helping us document this special time of our lives.
